What Is Your Real Goal In Life

I thought today I would be really honest about my goals.

While my main goal continues to be helping other people, I have to be honest about my secondary goal—to make money.

I came from a very financially poor upbringing. We lived on a farm and while we never seemed to lack the essential things in life, there was no money for extras. Going camping for a weekend was our vacation and we usually only went one time a year. We had to get back to the farm. I think my dad thought about the farm the whole time we would be gone anyway!

All I thought about while camping is, “I love it here and I want to stay forever.” Of course I was just a little kid and didn’t know that forever was a very long time!

I dreamed of making money from writing stories since I was around 10 years old, maybe even earlier. I knew it was possible, but probably not for someone my age. I would send away for information on getting your stories and books published. Of course, those were those vanity press places that charged thousands of dollars.

I was 10. I didn’t have a thousand anything! Well, except maybe the stones and sticks I used to play with out on our gravel driveway.

Anyway, I would play for hours dreaming that the barn was my castle and our farm was my vast expanse of a kingdom.

At night I dreamed of how to make my dreams into reality.

But I was 10 and those dreams didn’t have much basis in reality.

What I didn’t realize then was that I had everything I needed to make those dreams into reality.

My parents were equipping me with a solid work ethic. My creator had equipped me with knowledge, talent, drive and desire and the ability to create something out of nothing through the use of words.

It took me until this past spring to start really putting those things into action.

Do I have regrets? Definitely. I let the world tell me that my dreams were impossible and that I had to work a 9-5 job in order to make my dreams come true.

Folks, I am in a JOB (Just Over Broke) that leaves me burnt out by the end of each day and I am no where near my dreams.

Wealthy Affiliate is going to help me reach my dream goals. The skills and values I have learned here will help me not only build those castles in the sky, but my dream one here on the planet, as well.

It can help you do the same.

My real financial goal became clear to me this morning. I was looking at the financial goals I had set when I first started this journey about six years ago.

I believe I have updated it so that now it reads “$10,000 per month would meet my financial needs and $35,000 per month would be ideal.” But I don’t want to stick with those goals. My dream goals are much higher and I do not believe they are unrealistic. They will take time and effort and a few lucky breaks now and again, but they are possible. And I am going for them.

I love my life. I have been very blessed, far more than I am probably even aware of and certainly more than I deserve, but I want to excel at what I am doing and reach even more people and help even more people. And honestly, make even more money.

Let’s be honest, while the social interaction on Wealthy Affiliate is great, the majority of us are there to learn to make more money.

I know some of you have been concerned about me doing too much. As long as I have the energy I have to keep pushing because the clock just keeps moving forward and there are a lot of people I want to be able to help. There is no time for slowing down.

I want to be able to take a week long vacation or a month long vacation or even to be able to call the rest of my life a vacation!

If I am doing what I love to do—which is to write—then life would be like a vacation.

I am very excited to see what comes about over the next six months.

Hope you are all having a super great weekend!

Karin
